MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Kittenish

I know this collection was released in the US couple of months ago, I even did swatches on 2 of the l/s right here. But now I'm back in Saudi and they just recently launched this collection a month ago so I grabbed "Kittenish" which was sold out when I was in Guam.

 MAC Patentpolish in Kittenish

Now this color is something I would wear compared to the other 2 colors (berry bold, revved up) that I got. I did side by side swatches of some of the MAC. The finish is close to Lustre and it has a good opacity.

Do you own any of these l/s? What are your thoughts about them?

MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil Swatches (Berry Bold & Revved Up)

Hi ladies, I know it's been a while. Just a quick update, I'm recently in Guam spending summer with my family, and I've been buying a lot of makeup here cause it's cheaper in US territories than in other parts of the world. I've been visiting the MAC counter a lot, and I feel sad cause I want to be a MAC artist so bad and I just can't be one since I live in KSA. Over there only Saudis can work at MAC and I just feel so bad that I can't share my interest, talent, and creativity to women who need help in finding the right makeup for them. :( As much as I want to leave KSA, I just can't cause my husband has a good job there and he doesn't want to be away from our daughter and I. :( oh well........ Ok enough of the rant and on to the swatches!

According to the MAC website:
"The colour and shine of a gloss, the precision of a lip pencil - now in one colour stick. M•A•C Patentpolish Lip Pencil instantly achieves a luscious shine with a single swipe. Effortless twist-up keeps application clean and simple, with no need to sharpen. Enjoy colour in a range of 12 new shades - from bright corals to soft, rosy pinks and natural nudes - that stay bright and true on all skin tones."

My hubby got these for me for my birthday last month. Personally, I wouldn't pick it up for myself cause I saw the review and swatches online and it just didn't interest me. I'm more of a creamy/matte lipstick person cause i feel like lip glosses are all the same and I don't need that much glosses.

Revved Up ($21) & Berry Bold ($21)

MAC Revved Up

MAC Revved Up - This color is super sheer! It's close to MAC Hello Kitty Cutester but Cutester is creamier and it has tiny glitters. I'm not a fan of sheer lipsticks cause I have tiny blue veins on my lips and I don't like it to show.

MAC Berry Bold

MAC Berry Bold - It reminds me of the Revlon Lip Butters but to be honest, the Revlon one has better formula and it stains the lips (which I like). This is just blah to me. For $21 it is overpriced while you can just buy a balm or gloss stain at the drugstore for just a few bucks. I have never been disappointed with a MAC product so this is the first one on my list.

MAC 'Illustrated' by Rebecca Moses Brown Face Kit (Swatches & Video)

MAC Rebecca Moses Face Kit (brown)

If you've read my previous post, you'll know that I recently purchased the brush set and this palette from MAC's newest collection, 'Illustrated' by Rebecca Moses. I was excited cause this is my 1st time to purchase a palette from a collection. It was $49.50 ($101 value) at the Nordstrom website.

This palette includes:
1 blush (melba)
4 eyeshadows (clockwise: orb, all that glitters, show stopper, smoked sepia)
2 lipsticks (Ravishing clean, Myth light)
1 duo brush (275 SE medium angled brush, and 316 SE lip brush)

The 275 SE brush is so scratchy! I own a 2009 275SE but it was so soft, wider and fluffier, however the one included in this palette is very very scratchy and thinner.

Rebecca Moses Face Kit blush and eyeshadow swatches

The blush & eyeshadows are pigmented but you can barely see orb on my arm cause it's close as my skin color. I thought smoked sepia would be more of an orange brown but it's more of a rustic/dirty brown. I think show stopper was the only e/s I had a difficult time applying to my lid I feel like I need to scrape the eyeshadow on the pan to be able to get a good color pay off.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick 107

This is my first Rimmel lipstick and I'm so glad I tried it. It's matte, has great color pay off, and affordable! I bought this at Centrepoint for 45 SAR. I was able to get only one color from the collection cause they only had 4 shades at the counter and the other 3 was quite similar to my other lipsticks, but after trying this one I might get the nude one next time.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish 107

Comparisons: MAC Most Popular, Rimmel Kate 107, MAC Ruby Woo

As you can see on the swatches, 107 is like an opaque, and matte version of Most Popular. If I just put it on lightly on my lips and apply a clear gloss on top, it would look almost similar to the MAC one but Most Popular is slightly pinker.

Rimmel Kate 107

My daughter said I looked like an evil step mother on this photo bwahaha I think it's because of the strong eyes and lips. I used Sleek "Oh So Special" palette on my eyes which you can see the swatches here and I used Rimmel Kate 107 on my lips.

Sleek "Oh so special" on the lids and Rimmel Kate 107 on the lips

If you are searching for affordable matte lipsticks, I recommend getting these Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish lippies. :)

Sleek "Oh So Special" (Swatches)

This has got to be my favorite palette from Sleek makeup. I'm a fan of plums and corals when it comes to eyeshadows and this palette can go from day to night. If I were to travel and could only bring one palette, this would definitely be it.

 Sleek "Oh So Special"

 Swatches (natural light no flash)

Swatches (with flash)

No primer was used on all of the swatches. See how pigmented the colors are? But  even though the color payoff's great, I still wouldn't recommend not using a primer because the eyeshadows are pretty powdery and might fall off your lids at the end of the day. For $9.99 this palette is a must have! :)

Here's a simple EOTD I did yesterday using this palette.

Hello Kitty Makeup

Yesterday, my friends and I together with our kids went to Hamley's toy store in Mall of Dhahran. The place was huge and had lots of toys that Toys R Us in Dhahran didn't have. Unexpectedly, we saw this in the middle of the store...

Hello Kitty makeup in the middle of the toy store! Whaaaat?!?!?! No words could explain how schocked and happy I was LOL.

I have never seen HK makeup before so as soon as I got home, I searched for it on the net. I discovered that this makeup line was exclusively sold on Priceline, an australian pharmacy store. I checked their prices and it was so much cheaper than the prices here in KSA! I bought this pressed powder for 91 SAR (21 AUD) while on their website, it was sold for only $14.95 AUD, that's $6 difference!
I purchased only 3 products from this line cause I don't really need more L/S and nail polish. Here's what I got:

Hello Kitty liquid liner in 01 (71 SAR), Hello Kitty 4 e/s palette in 04 (109 SAR), and Hello Kitty pressed powder in 01 (91 SAR)

Comparison: Hello Kitty face powder in 01 (left), MAC Skinfinish mineralize powder in Medium Plus (right)

Hello Kitty liquid eyeliner in 01

Hello Kitty pressed powder 01 - I actually love this powder! It's so light and mattifies my skin really well. Even though it looks really light on the swatch, it actually blends to my face since the powder is so fine and isn't really that pigmented. If you're a MAC person, it's more of a blot powder than select sheer. I'm an NC25 and got the lightest shade and it didn't make my face chalky/cakey even in flash photos. The only downside of this powder is that it doesn't have a sponge or brush to apply it with so you have to use a separate one, but this doesn't bother me at all since I always have a travel face brush with me.

Hello Kitty e/s 04 - I haven't had the chance to use the e/s on my face yet but based on the swatch they actually aren't bad. On the display they had I think 4-5 different palette to choose from and I got the most neutral one. All of them have slight shimmers but not too metallic.

Hello Kitty eyeliner - I love how pigmented this eyeliner is! It's easy to apply to using the felt tip wand. Once dried it is smudge proof.

I'm in love with this makeup line! They have the cutest packaging and the quality of the products are really good. It's unfortunate that they sell it so overpriced here in KSA compared to their usual drugstore price in Australia.

MAC Sheen Supreme Full Speed

MAC Full Speed
SR92 ($24.5)

From MAC website:
Combining the colour impact of a Lipstick with the shine sheen of a Lipglass, Sheen Supreme creates the perfect hybrid - with no compromise. Lightweight, non-sticky, slick to apply and comfortable to wear.
This is a must-have for all those who have craved this kind of fusion.

Full Speed, described as "bright clean yellow pink" on the mac website, is a light pink coral, close but lighter to MAC Impassioned. I just really love the texture of these l/s. It's buttery when applied, and even
with the glossy texture, it isn't sheer and gives the right amount of pigment to the lips.

MAC Sheen Supreme Insanely It

Insanely It, described as "watermelon pink" on the MAC website. I just love how these l/s glides on the lips and it always leaves my lips moisturized. I bought it at MAC for SR92 ($24.5)

Dior Addict 623 Beige Mondaine

I bought this l/s few weeks ago, and immediately tried to take a good pic of it but it was so difficult cause  these l/s have rounded feet so I couldn't stand them straight and it kept on rolling down, and that explains the"boo boo" cause it fell off while I was trying to take a photo of it. >_<

I bought this l/s at Sephora for SR160 ($42.6). I don't usually buy high end makeup here cause it's so over priced, but when I swatched it on my hand, I just had to buy it! It's so pretty! It's a warm rosy plum with purple micro glitters. This l/s is so moisturizing and made my dry lips unnoticable. It's creamy, opaque, and has a glossy finish. It is my new favorite l/s and great for everyday wear. I usually wear it with just curled lashes with 2 coats of mascara, a rosy blush, and I'm all set!

I swatched it together with 2 of my l/s for comparison. I took the photo with my point and shoot, but I couldn't find the cord & I couldn't upload it on my computer, so I just took a photo of it from my phone.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams PART 1: Addis Ababa & Antwerp

"Goodbye glossy lips, hello matte lips!" NYX soft matte lip creams are my new fave lippies! I was excited when NYX released a budget friendly, matte lip colors. Ever since I got these in the mail, I've been wearing them everytime I go out. They come in a lip gloss-like tube with doe foot applicators which make them easier to apply than matte lipsticks which usually drag your lips when you apply straight from the lipstick tube.

These 2 are my most fav colors among the lip creams. The only thing I don't like about these lip creams, is that it is a bit drying. You should always wear lip balm first, wait for at least 5 mins, and blot the excess, then apply the lip color. If you just wear them without exfoliating or moisturizing, the cracks and dryness will become very noticeable and it doesn't look pretty! Another bad thing about this product is the staying power. I don't mind having more touch ups tho and for the price, I think it's pretty worth it!
